Nottingham Organic Gardeners

Welcome to Nottingham Organic Gardeners.

We are a voluntary organisation, a friendly group in Nottingham, open to all.

We aim to promote organic and sustainable gardening, and a more localised food culture.

We have an Organic Demonstration Garden at Whitemoor Allotments in Nottingham and hold regular talks, workshops and events with an organic theme.

Please note we cannot endorse or recommend specific gardening suppliers, businesses or growers.

Talk: 'Moving towards the Food Sovereignty of Nottingham City'

How did  research in Uganda lead to Moorgreen Veg, a micro-scale social enterprise? Hear from Bridget Leadbeater about how her work on semi-subsistence, small-scale banana cultivation inspired a project cultivating fresh produce, supplying the newly established Nottingham Mapperley Food Assembly online farmers’ market.

Lisa Gertson will show how The Food Assembly has opened the door for small-scale local growers like Moorgreeen Veg to share and sell their produce locally. This mobilisation of allotmenteers, gardeners and small-scale producers has the potential to significantly support an ecologically sustainable supply of fresh produce in Nottingham city.

Takes place at The Polish Eagle Club. Members (free) and non-members (£2) all welcome.
