Nottingham Organic Gardeners

Welcome to Nottingham Organic Gardeners.

We are a voluntary organisation, a friendly group in Nottingham, open to all.

We aim to promote organic and sustainable gardening, and a more localised food culture.

We have an Organic Demonstration Garden at Whitemoor Allotments in Nottingham and hold regular talks, workshops and events with an organic theme.

Please note we cannot endorse or recommend specific gardening suppliers, businesses or growers.

Talk: Alan Graham - Rain Gardens

Alan works as a sustainable drainage specialist for Trent Rivers Trust and has created a ‘rain garden’ in his own front garden in Sherwood. Rain gardens are one element of Sustainable Drainage systems (SUDs). The aim is to mimic natural processes, to allow water to be temporally stored and infiltrate into the soil. We have lost (and still losing) too much land to concrete. Rain gardens are a simple way to reverse this issue and reduce flood risk whilst helping wildlife and well being.
